Over the past few hours, we’ve started to hear a lot of buzz around a new Valve game. Known until now as Neon Prime, this would soon be revealed as Deadlock. And according to new sources, the game would be a cooperative and competitive shooter in the style of Overwatch or Paladins.
In this way, Valve would join the trend of hero shooters, which in 2024 would experience a new renaissance with the aforementioned Deadlock and the new Marvel Rivals.

The information comes from reports of Gabe Adeptwhere he assures that this new shooter will be a “third-person competitive hero-based game
Gabe Follower assures that The title will focus on 6vs6 battles on huge maps, where tower defense mechanisms will be created. Additionally, he also mentions other games like Dota 3, Team Fortress 2, Valorant or Smite as titles where he took inspiration and, When creating the characters, Valve would take inspiration from the Dota universe
Regardless, for now and as we always recommend, we have to take this information with a grain of salt. Valve has made no official comments or announcements, so anything can be. And, to be honest, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company that owns Steam wanted a piece of the hero shooter pie. Can it compete with the timeless Overwatch?
