In order for Baldur’s Gate 3 to be fully playable from disc, the role-playing game on Xbox Series X may get four discs instead of three.
If you deliver a game on several discs, then they should have their right to exist. Nowadays, a disc is often only used to download the full game during installation. At least Larian Studios wants to make sure that isn’t necessary.
Director of Publishing Michael Douse told Kotaku that they wanted to make the console version playable without the hassle of downloading.
Douse said: “The plan is that the game will be entirely playable on discs, that is the reality we are in. We stupid people!”
It was previously reported that Baldur’s Gate 3 would ship on three discs. Now the version for Xbox Series X in particular may even get four.
“There will definitely be at least three, maybe four, which is a problem. But it’s a funny problem,” says Douse.
