According to rumors, a remake of Final Fantasy IX is actually in the works – but one of Final Fantasy X is not.
While Square Enix continues to work on the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, more and more reports are leaking out about remakes being in the works for Part IX and Part X. The usually quite reliable leaker Midori has now announced that these rumors are partly true.
According to him, a Final Fantasy IX remake is actually being created, which cannot be said about a Final Fantasy X remake. In any case, according to Midori, such a remake does not currently exist.
It should of course be noted that Midori’s statements, no matter how reliable the leaker may be, are only rumors. It is currently not known or foreseeable when Square Enix will make a possible Final Fantasy IX remake public, although Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida dropped hints in this direction.
