It’s been a little over a week since we spoke to you here about date of launch of Football Manager 25. Well now we have a clear case of where I said Diego… From SEGA they just announced a delay and the sports game won’t arrive when it’s ready. Its new release date will be next month March 2025without specifying a day for the moment.
Sports Interactive explained that it did not believe it could launch an acceptable product in the current time frame. It remains to be seen what impact this will have on FM26, given that the games are broadcast on an annual schedule. We leave you with him statement
Football Manager 25 needs more polish and has a new date
After careful consideration, Sports Interactive has made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Football Manager 25. Following discussions with SEGA, our licensors and partners, we agreed that the best solution was to delay the release until March 2025. Specific release dates for each platform will be announced once confirmed. In our last development update in September, we explained that we had to postpone the original release of FM25 to give us more time to deliver the best possible experience for this first installment in a new era of Football Manager. This additional time was not enough to ensure that the quality of the game and experience met your expectations and our very high standards.
In the previous blog we explained that It’s been a difficult development cycle for the studio. Many things are moving slower than expected, even though everyone on the team has been working at an incredible pace to try to get everything done. Deadlines were already tight and, as many of your recent comments have rightly pointed out, we were simply in too much of a hurry and risked compromising our usual standards. This has put enormous pressure on everyone working at the studio, who are passionately committed to delivering the best game possible.
March 2025 is the chosen month
We simply cannot jeopardize achieving this pivotal moment in Football Manager history by rushing for a November release. Of course, this isn’t the situation any of us would expect within seven weeks of our release, but, in the spirit of our studio values, we always look at the bigger picture – and the big picture is we need this extra time. to deliver a game we can all be proud of“.
Let’s just hope that this is the last delay and that we can finally see in March the fruit of all this extra effort that the studio is making
