Mario vs. Donkey Kong hops onto the Switch throne. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden takes the Xbox crown!
Since its release last October, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has topped the official German Switch charts nonstop, as determined by GfK Entertainment.
But that’s over now (for now), because the Nintendo icon is competing with itself: Mario vs. Donkey Kong, a remake of the 20-year-old Game Boy Advance classic, immediately ascends to the throne of the hit list. The mix of puzzle and jumping fun is also the most popular video game of the week across platforms.
The action-adventure Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden takes gamers back to the 17th century, where all sorts of ghosts wreak havoc and blur the boundaries between good and evil.
Praised by critics and fans alike, the story, which is over 35 hours long, is told at the top of the Xbox Series hit list and in second place in the PS5 rankings. The pirate RPG Skull and Bones hijacks positions two and three (Xbox Series) and four and seven (PS5) thanks to the standard and premium editions.
Equipped with fresh energy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 reclaims the PS5 crown once again. In the PS4 charts, the 20th anniversary edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider is making a name for itself in fifth place.
The frontrunner here, as on Xbox One, remains the long-running favorite GTA V. The best-selling computer game is once again Farming Simulator 22.
