Halo Infinite is the latest installment of Xbox’s quintessential flagship. A game that, with its lights and shadows, is about to end its third year on the market. A long path during which it has expanded its online options, adding new game modes, as well as maps and weapons.
Among the game modes added this time There are two that stand out above all: the infection and the shooting. The first of them is an authentic frenzy, fast and direct action, multiplayer that has dazzled everyone who comes to try it.
Something similar happens with shooting, except this time it’s a mode designed to survive a series of waves against the AI. A team of four Spartans must occupy different positions for a certain amount of time to earn a spot. Over time, the waves become more complicated, and we even see the emergence of a campaign leader who will put us in more than one impasse.
A very fun way (especially if it is between friends) in which cooperation is essential. If you go to war alone, you are lost.
But I’m not here to tell you about the mode itself or convince you to play it (try it if you haven’t yet), but to give my opinion (personal and exclusive) on why I think this is a useless way
Helldivers 2 and the simplicity of PvE multiplayer
Because if we start to think, We are faced with a classic vague mode in which the content possibilities are almost endless. And with the success of titles like Helldivers II, they could give it a lot of life. As? Very simple: added new factions available in Firefight.
Why can’t we display flows there? This would fit perfectly with the theme of the mode, resisting waves of enemies for a while. Something that we have already experienced in a certain way in the first games of the saga. With this, Gunfight would benefit from great variety, being able to expand the experience with new maps and enemies.
But not only floods, but also precursors. The main enemies from Halo 4 and 5 are gone in Infinite, but Gunfight could be their place of return. Both enemies have many enemy types that can be rescued and brought back and would add a lot of variety and options to this game mode.
Plus, there’s no need to give much justification for why they only appear in shootout mode: there are plenty of showdowns in the galaxy. Who says there aren’t other planets or seasons fighting them outside of what’s happening in the Halo Infinite ring? I understand the fact that it is based on the game and that is why they do not appear, but wouldn’t it be a very good option to expand it and give more possibilities?
And there is no need to add anything else, no skills seen in Gears of War and its horde mode, no orders or orbital attacks. Halo doesn’t need it and, as the mode is designed, it’s more than enough. Pure and simple resistance with what we have, wave after wave. But adding these two factions would be a good point from 343 industries. And, who knows, this could be the starting point for a spin-off of the saga in the purest Helldivers II style, something that they already had on the table a few years ago and which has not born.
