With so many exciting games out there, it’s understandable that players can do some homework before committing to a title: it could be reading reviews, looking up tech features, or just making sure a game gets the way supports as we prefer to include. But it shouldn’t feel like research. Today we’re excited to announce updates to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass app, so you can see at a glance which languages a game supports.
You can now easily determine if a game has in-game language support based on a “Languages” label before opening the product detail page. In-game language information is collected in 27 languages for three elements of the game experience – a title’s user interface, audio, and subtitles. We have added voice tags to hundreds of games and will add more over time.
With this update, when you sign in to the Microsoft Store on Xbox or the Xbox Game Pass app, you can easily see which languages a game supports, so you can more easily decide whether to buy or play that title. This view also shows what aspects of the game have been localized for a particular language, including the game’s user interface (such as game controls and on-screen menus), the spoken audio you hear from the characters, and the appropriate subtitles for the audio . To make it even easier, the language you choose as the default for your console will be shown at the top of the list. You don’t have to scroll.
Adding voice tags to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass app on consoles is an important step toward our goal of making you and your friends feel at home while playing on Xbox. This update will make it easier and help bring the joy of gaming to more people. Stay tuned as we will be releasing more updates later this year to make it even easier for you to find and play games that suit you and meet your unique tastes and needs. The world of gaming is huge and diverse, and we believe there is a perfect game or games for everyone – we’re here to make that process faster and easier.
Thank you!
I started playing Xbox a lot thanks to Call of Duty online. Since then I haven't stopped playing competitive online.
