Electronic Arts and Codemasters announce more details about EA SPORTS F1 23’s fictional story.
Electronic Arts has just announced its second deep dive video for EA SPORTS F1 23, the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship, which will be released on June 16th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.
The video, narrated by Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham, takes a closer look at various improvements across the different game modes including F1 World, Braking Point 2, improved multiplayer and the return of Career and My Team.
After debuting in F1 2021, Braking Point, the fictional story mode, returns this year. A new chapter begins in the careers of young upstart Aiden Jackson and protagonist Devon Butler, who are now teammates in Konnersport Racing Team, a fledgling organization hoping to prevail against current F1 teams and drivers.
In addition to a variety of new rivalries, drama and racing challenges, there are also a number of new characters in the story. One of them is Callie Mayer, the newly crowned Formula 2 Champion and sister of Devon Butler, who is dying to compete on the greatest stage of all, Formula 1.
To bring her story to life, the writing team partnered with three-time W Series World Champion and Williams Racing development driver Jamie Chadwick, who provided valuable insight from a driver’s perspective.
Another key feature is F1 World: A New Way to Enjoy the Game that serves as a central hub for multiple game modes. It offers solo and multiplayer experiences, a shared progression system, daily, weekly and seasonal content, an overhauled license level system and many different ways to play.
F1 world will introduce new players to the complex world of Formula 1 and help them familiarize themselves with the game before bidding for the world championship.
For fans who have been around for a while, the feature offers the chance to rediscover favorite areas of the game, including Time Trials, Grand Prix and Multiplayer.
As players advance in F1 World and take on events and challenges that change over time and are tailored to the season, they rise in tech level and earn upgrades to equip their F1 World car with.
This improves the car’s performance and makes it possible to master more difficult events.
