Mushroom Wars 2 proudly carries the legacy of its predecessor. original Mushroom Wars became one of the RTS genre pioneers of the last generation of consoles and introduced intuitive gamepad support for controlling huge hordes of mushrooms of up to 4000 units on the screen.
We wanted to keep the authentic look and feel of the original game, but keep it looking more modern. In the end we got around to making the graphics more realistic and changed the scale a bit. We recreated one of the original multiplayer maps that were hugely popular to make sure nothing was broken and the game felt the same.
To add to the multiplayer fun and eliminate the snowball effect, we’ve added heroes from four different tribes. Each hero has four unique skills that can have a dramatic impact on the battlefield and surprise the enemy. We have also introduced the 2v2 mode so that players can now compete in teams and different abilities of different heroes can lead to interesting synergy effects. With this addition, the proven gameplay of the original game really shines.
We have prepared a story-based campaign for players who want to join in and immerse themselves in the mushroom world. An unknown enemy has wreaked havoc among the mushroom people, and neighbors who were once friendly have begun to fight each other. Lead the Mushroom Army and convey peace! You are to become a general of the Mushroom Army. As a fearless commander and skilled strategist you have to fight against opposing tribes, conquer and hold settlements, defense towers and armories, increase your mushroom forces, conquer the battlefield and in the end solve the mushroom mystery of your grandfather.
