Music producer Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 was so outraged by an offer from Rockstar for Grand Theft Auto VI that he found clear words: “Go f*ck yourself”.
Martyn Ware, co-founder of the band Heaven 17, took to Twitter to publicly express his anger over an offer from Rockstar Games. Rockstar Games wanted to include the song “Temptation” in Grand Theft Auto VI and pay a one-time fee for it.
But the offer was not well received and Martyn responded with “Go f*ck yourself”.
“I was recently contacted by my publishers on behalf of Rockstar Games about the possibility of using Temptation in the new Grand Theft Auto 6.”
“Naturally, I was excited about the immense wealth that was about to come my way and scrolled to the bottom of the email about the offer…”
“IT WAS $7500 – for a buyout of all future royalties from the game – forever…”
“For comparison, Grand Theft Auto 6 made, wait for it… $8.6 BILLION. But think of the public… F*ck yourself.”
So the offer was $7,500 for a complete buyout free of all future royalties from the game.
