The classic Atari racing saga “Sprint” returns to our consoles with NeoSprint developed by Headless Chicken Games and published by Atari itself.

NeoSprint is a single-screen arcade racing game for up to 8 players with multiple cars and circuits in which we can compete alone or against our friends.. In NeoSprint we will have at our disposal a variety of cars that focus on 3 basic characteristics such as speed, acceleration and turning, so we will have to choose appropriately the vehicle that we will use to compete. The game is aimed at a children’s audience since its visual appearance resembles the toy car games that children use, which is why it is attractive to adults who remember their childhood years, like children of ‘Today.

Depending on the circuit in which we are going to participate, it will be important to know what type of car may be most suitable to use, because if we have difficulty turning in the corners we will collide with the sides of the circuit. and our car will suffer damage. Of course, it is important to mention that we are not alone on the circuit since there are more drivers who will try at all costs to get first place and we will have to be attentive to their maneuvers, sometimes more focused on destruction than on destruction. trying to win the race.

It’s not all about speed, you have to do it seek a balance between acceleration and the ease of being able to turn better in corners and not lose performance in racing. The mode Grand Prix allows you to play a tournament among those who are defeated in campaign modeand even allows you to create your own cut by choosing from all the circuits in the game. In the free race we can practice our skills on a blocked circuit and be able to practice strategy better.

As in any racing game, the stopwatch can be a great enemy and in this case we have the time trial mode in which the objective will be to complete a lap on any circuit in the shortest time possible, to this we will have a ghost represented by our best score that we will have to overcome. On the obstacle course we have a game mode in which we also have to complete a lap in the shortest possible time to get the gold/silver/bronze medal depending on the rank in which we complete the circuit.

Finally, the most interesting mode is multiplayer in which up to 8 players can play locally on the same console, although drivers can also be added to the track controlled by the CPU.

Personalization

NeoSprint offers excellent variety of customizable elements which can be unlocked, which will allow us to visually customize the cars in addition to going get coins of different kinds to create the track of our dreams. As we participate in races and level up, we will obtain a series of boxes that will give us these cosmetic and customization items. A somewhat secondary and more focused goal is to complete the collection, since at any time you can see the completion percentage we are currently at.

We can customize the appearance of the cars but it is true that it would be nice to have the possibility of being able to create a car from scratch by choosing each of the parts that compose it (wheels, shape, size, weight… .) and to be able to give a more complete experience, we will see if later with the updates we will obtain new additions in the game.

NeoSprint is a fairly complete arcade and racing title, easy to play in which its variety of game modes allows us to face different challenges depending on what we are looking for, whether individually in campaign mode or looking for the best time in the time trial It is a very attractive game to play locally with your friends and family on the same console up to a maximum of 8 people, and seek to reach the objective first in any way either, arriving in one piece.
