Postponed or not postponed? More and more journalists are trying to squeeze new information out of their sources.
Grand Theft Auto VI is said to have already been postponed internally to 2026. However, Jason Schreier cannot yet confirm this claim from an insider.
Instead, he said he contacted six Rockstar Games employees and no one could confirm the postponement.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean anything, because it’s quite possible that Rockstar Games hasn’t informed all employees about the postponement yet.
“The internet (and my DMs) blew up this weekend with the rumor that GTA VI is being delayed. The good news is that six Rockstar employees all told me they hadn’t heard of a delay. The bad news: it’s a big, ambitious game and there could very well be delays! There’s too much time to say anything definitive.”
“I want to be very clear: six employees told me they were not *informed* of a delay. For all I know, Rockstar’s leadership team could have decided to delay GTA VI months ago without telling the company. But the lack of an internal announcement suggests the Twitter rumor was nonsense.”
Tom Henderson also spoke up and saidthat there would be no postponement.
