We continue to learn this week details about Microsoft’s purchase of Activision with Sony as a luxury guest. Although giant strides were made this week in learning of the deals Microsoft has struck with Nintendo and Nvidia for Call Of Duty, the Japanese company is still on the sidelines. Sony was offered the same agreement as the others, that is to say 10 years during which each delivery of the Call Of Duty saga that will be released will reach their consoles, this agreement does not seem to convince and in those that they are, a toss-up relaxes that it looks like it won’t end anytime soon.
On the other hand, we learned from the hand of Brad Smith, that the contract that exists between Activision and Sony for Call Of Duty will end in 2024So it’s a bit inconsistent that they might not sign a new 10-year deal with Microsoft and Activision to continue the saga for years to come. At the moment things are like this, Microsoft offers and Sony rejects, so the next few weeks in this soap opera will be very interesting.
Sony’s Call Of Duty deal ends in 2024
We’re giving Sony the same things we’ve given Nintendo and NVIDIA, especially with respect to the legally binding obligation to bring Call of Duty to PlayStation consoles for the next 10 years. The legal requirement underscores our desire to bring a version of Call of Duty identical to the Xbox version to PlayStation consoles.
I think everyone agrees that we’re giving Sony a better deal than they currently have with Activision Blizzard, a deal that expires next year.
The relationship between Activision and Sony doesn’t seem to be the best and the continuation of the “boycott” of the agreement could lead Activision to take more drastic measures with its saga, so we will see if Sony finally agrees and allows Microsoft to close the purchase. at Activision without further delay.
