In 2411, the Klingon Empire was in ruins. Chancellor J’mpok, who has gone mad with power, has declared himself emperor and triggered a rupture in the great houses that could mean the end of the great empire. Star Trek Online, The free online role-playing game has always lived between the Star Trek series. Now that three new Star Trek shows are airing and more are to follow, we are in an amazing position to bridge different eras and different storytellers. Probably the biggest example of this is the House Reborn update, which just launched on Xbox One (and playable on Xbox Series X). After a year of building, the history of the Klingon Empire will take an exciting turn as we bring Klingons past and present together.
Boreth, the sacred world of the Klingons, has appeared in two Star Trek series. In “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” it was shown as a dark, cavernous place where Worf traveled to get a vision of Kahless, the greatest Klingon. In “Star Trek: Discovery” it was a sprawling, medieval place full of light. The reason the planet seems so different on two different shows is obvious – television and its ability to take us to distant worlds have come a long way since we last saw the planet. But Star Trek Online
There are over 40 Star Trek actors in Star Trek Onlineand repeat their roles from the TV show. House Reborn brings together most of the Klingons from most eras of all time. JG Hertzler returns as Martok, possibly the greatest Klingon general who ever lived. Robert O’Reilly appears as the original STO Character Aakar and Gowron, the treacherous Klingon who appeared in both “The Next Generation” and “Deep Space Nine”. And two newcomers join us. Mary Chieffo is L’Rell, the Klingon matriarch who brought the Empire together in Discovery. Her son and the main monk of Boreth in this series was Tenavik, played by Kenneth Mitchell. Ken was unable to record Tenavik’s return but he was able to coach his hand-picked substitute Sam Witwer. Maybe you have Sam’s voice, “Kenobi!” Hear screaming. once in the middle of the desert.
