New Barton Lynch Pro Surfing update offers more features to improve game quality.
With the release of Barton Lynch Pro Surfing in November for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S, Western Australia-based studio Bungarra Software has been working hard to incorporate fan feedback.
The result of the work results in updates 1.08 and 1.09, which are now available for download live on all platforms.
Final round function:
- A run-end feature has been added, allowing the user to end a round at will.
Challenges and Arcade Modes:
- Fixed an issue in Manly where the user would accidentally end up on the 2nd peak after riding a wave to the end.
- Fixed an issue in Mundaka where the fade would occasionally obscure the screen when attempting to stand on a wave.
- Fixed an issue where the fade would not clear when the player entered the equip scene and the round ended.
Main menu:
- Fixed an issue where pressing the B (Back) button would not return to the main menu, but would instead advance to Arcade.
Character Creator
- Fixed Edge Case PC specific crash bug for new saves.
AI:
- Fixed an issue where the PWC would not allow the AI to return to the play area after a single score.
Character model
- Fixed an issue where the wet map was not applied correctly to two-piece costumes (tops).
Game UI (Options)
- Fixed issue with KPH/MPH not being set correctly in options
- Fixed graphics settings (resolution and window mode)
- Fixed issue with game difficulty failing for Steam clients
In addition, Bungarra Software remains committed to ensuring long-term support for Barton Lynch Pro Surfing and is working on further improvements to the game with new features and initiatives to improve the quality of play.
These improvements include, among others, the following points:
- Memory Management: Stability issue on Xbox Series S (work in progress)
- Water shader graphics (in progress)
- Adding AI to Freesurf along with PWC gameplay considerations (longer term)
- More variety in waves in the same heat or even freesurfing (in progress)
- Addition of the Fan Hub to enable the creation of custom characters and tours
- Steam Deck compatibility UI issues
- Exploring additional options for porting to other platforms
- General QA bug list
