Modern combat vehicles have become even more realistic in War Thunder!
Gaijin Entertainment announces the release of the “Seek & Destroy” update for the online vehicle combat game War Thunder.
The update brings dozens of new military vehicles, including the British battlecruiser HMS Queen Mary, the French torpedo boat VLT-2, the German fighter jet F-4F KWS LV (ICE) and the Kuwaiti infantry fighting vehicle Desert Warrior. The central theme of “Seek & Destroy” is the FOX-3 missiles, but there are also numerous other innovations, eg new models for modern pilots, detailed helicopter cockpits, improved damage mechanics for modern armored vehicles and much more.
The damage model for modern tanks and air defense systems in War Thunder has become even more accurate.
Enemy shells can now damage modules such as the autoloader, fire control system, driver controls and electronic devices, immediately affecting the corresponding vehicle functions.
Fortunately, the crew can repair this damage from inside the tank. In addition, a direct hit from a grenade or a near-detonation from a bomb can now cause damage to the chassis of wheeled vehicles, with an animation showing one or more wheels being torn off.
The game now offers detailed cockpits for one and a half dozen helicopters.
Models of the crews of German armored vehicles from the Second World War, the Soviet tank crews of the post-war period and the pilots of modern combat aircraft such as the A-10 as well as the F-14, F-16, F-15, J-11, MiG-29, Su-27 and Yak-141 fighters have also been redesigned for all gaming nations.
The VLT-2 is a rare French torpedo boat that saw limited service at the end of World War II.
In War Thunder, it is the first representative of the French coastal defense fleet, which will be added to the game in one of the next major updates. Those who purchase the VLT-2 package will be the first to get access to the closed beta for the entire tech tree.
The boat is armed with two 40mm Bofors and two 20mm Oerlikon machine guns, and the 550mm torpedoes in two torpedo tubes can send even the largest ships to the bottom if hit.
