Curiously, Microsoft is still betting on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Although Windows 10 and Windows 11 are “their pretty girls”, the truth is that there is an attractive market share that they cannot ignore and they must inevitably continue to use these older versions of the operating system, either because of the hardware or because it costs more to upgrade than to buy new equipment.
Thus, just yesterday, the teams equipped with these versions of the system received good news since they have released patches safety and maintenance for both.
Updates for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
The fixes are KB5016681 for Windows 8.1 and KB5016676 for Windows 7. Microsoft didn’t provide a changelog for the improvements, only a full log of known issues and how to fix them after the upgrade if you’re concerned.
Both updates are accessible through Windows Update, just go in and check for new updates. In the case of Windows 7, you must be an ESU customer, which is basically those customers who have purchased extended operating system support
