Development of iOS 18.1, the first version that Apple Intelligence will release, is nearing completion with Beta 7 released this afternoon with iPadOS, in addition to other betas for watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
If we listen to the rumors, the final and public version of iOS 18.1 will arrive on October 28, so this Beta 7 could be the last Beta we see. The development of this new version is already so advanced that Apple launched developer beta and public betasomething that is not very common. This is one of the most anticipated updates because it will be the first to launch the new Apple Intelligence, Apple’s artificial intelligence. What are the first Apple Intelligence features What will happen with iOS 18.1?
- Writing Tools, a feature that allows users to rewrite, revise, and summarize text in almost any field they write in, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps.
- Within the Photos app, the Memories feature now gives users the ability to create the videos they want by simply writing a description. The new Clean tool in the Photos app identifies and removes unwanted items appearing in the background, without accidentally changing the subject
- The Notes and Phone apps let you record, transcribe, and summarize audio messages. When a recording starts in the Phone app, participants receive a notification and at the end of the call, Apple Intelligence generates a summary to highlight the most important points.
- Apple Intelligence helps users prioritize their tasks with notification summaries across all apps and the new Reduce Interruptions focus mode, which only shows notifications that may need urgent attention.
- Mail adds a new feature that interprets the content of emails and displays the most urgent ones first. The Mail app’s Smart Reply option provides suggestions for quickly responding to an email and identifies questions in the message so none go unanswered.
- Siri has a new design and you can write on Siri whenever you want on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and seamlessly switch from text to speech to streamline everyday tasks. Now Siri retains context from one query to the next and will continue to understand your instructions even if you get stuck speaking. Plus, it can now answer thousands of questions about device features and settings. So you can ask it how to record your iPhone screen and it will give you instructions.
