The Samsung Galaxy S21 which was presented yesterday promises to be high performance terminals in every way, and that includes the photographic part. However, as we did on our first contact, the hardware section isn’t much different from what we’ve seen in the Galaxy S20.
Samsung has put more effort than usual to improve the photographic aspects that go beyond the number of Mpx or the type of sensor.
A good example is the stabilization obtained with zooms greater than 20x in these terminals.
Use artificial intelligence in the Galaxy S21 camera
Samsung’s new camera app has changed a lot, offering new filters in real time and adding advanced features to image editing, including using artificial intelligence from new processors, the Snapdragon 888 and the Exynos 2100 .
The most striking is the one that allows us remove people from a photo with a single tap. This has been possible for years with programs like Photoshop, which recently included these advanced object recognition functions.
This new option is part of the image editing functions and allows us to select people from a photo just by tapping on it.
When we do, it will be shaded with a gray color that will indicate the area that will be removed, and the background will be redrawn following the tones and structure of the rest of the image.
Samsung has indicated that this feature will be available in other models in the coming months, so we are assuming that this is one of the features of One UI 3.1, the version of the interface that these S21s offer.
It remains to be seen how this works with other types of objects and whether the background of the photograph is influencing a lot.
