Nowadays, the cell phone you carry in your pocket or bag is also a camera with a lot of potential both for taking photos and recording videos. And in the case of cell phones Samsung GalaxyThe company has integrated some new features and changes for the cameras of compatible devices with the update to One UI 6.
The new version of the custom layer based on Android 14 is packed with new features, some of which based on artificial intelligence. Samsung doesn’t want us to miss the opportunity to take advantage of each of these functions and capabilities of the Galaxy mobile camera, so the company has some tips for us.
An app capable of editing photos and videos with a single tap, thanks to AI
If your phone has already received the One UI 6 update, we recommend downloading the Enhance-X app from the Galaxy Store directly to your phone (and if you haven’t received the update yet, don’t don’t despair: Samsung is very quick to bring One UI 6 to all supported devices).
This application allows edit photos and videos with the touch of a button, with very good results in most cases. It works so well and so quickly that it never ceases to amaze me constantly. For example, one of the proposed options allows “Clean the lens” of the camera…after taking the photo. Basically, you can correct a photo when it looks too blurry, at least to some extent.
It is also possible to select videos up to 30 seconds long for turn them into a slow motion video (with two speed options), or choose a video up to 60 seconds long to turn it into a long exposure video, such as a video of a highway with lots of car traffic.
Eventually, Enhance-X app can use AI to analyze video and get images good quality of these short clips. In other words, you can automatically take screenshots of videos, choosing the best possible image.
Intelligent image selection and cropping
Samsung calls it “AI image clipping” and basically it is a function that allows you to press and hold an object or a person in an image, and the system will cut it out so that you can use that object as a sticker in a document or in any application , or simply save it as a new image.
The AI Image Clipping feature can be used directly from the Samsung Galaxy gallery, without having to access the editor.
Quickly change the resolution when taking a photo
In the Camera app, there is now a new button that allows Quickly switch between the different available resolutions to take photos, both in standard Photo mode and in Pro mode. In this way, the most demanding and meticulous photography users will be able to change the resolution with a single touch without having to enter the camera settings menu, but directly from the main screen.
More and better options when editing photos
Speaking of the photo editor, Samsung revamped the image editor in One UI 6to simplify its use and thus find advanced editing options more quickly, including options based on artificial intelligence.
In a new section of the main toolbar are options such as “delete objects» (which allows you to delete practically anything from a photo with a single gesture) and the new tool to correct the horizontal or vertical position of a photo.
Finally, they also added the Undo and Redo buttons, located in the upper left corner of the screen, to be able to quickly undo a specific edit without having to start editing again, or redo a edit that, after all, works. looked perfect for this photo.
Samsung has also significantly improved the tool for scan documents using a camera: When taking a photo of a document, the mobile will detect it on its own even if the “Optimize scene” option is deactivated, allowing all of its text to be extracted or saved as a document, even in eliminating fingers holding the sheet, if necessary.
With these tools, One UI 6.0 offers more options to obtain better results from our photos and videos, even after their capture.
