Siri has, in some cases, fallen behind in the fight for the best virtual assistant. Google or Alexa have increased their capabilities and possibilities exponentially while Siri directs us in these cases to “This is what I found on the internet about…”, but this time, Siri shows a capacity that neither Alexa nor Google nor any other assistant can offer in such a simple way thanks to the Apple ecosystem: to silence the alarm of a loved one’s mobile.
We’re at home and the alarm is going off on someone’s iPhone, far away, in another room and no one can turn it off. It can be very annoying to have to search for the device and turn off the alarm so that it stops bothering us. Well, Siri offers us a simple solution to avoid these problems, a trick to be able to silence the alarm without having to get up from the couch or stop what you’re doing right now.
First, in order to take advantage of this feature, You must have activated the iCloud functionality to configure a family, with its iCloud accounts and devices, otherwise it will not work
Right now, Siri will ask us to confirm if we want to turn off the alarm that is ringing on that person’s iPhone.
Sometimes Siri lets us down, frustrates us with its useless answers. However, others save our lives with features like this, allowing us to continue our life without discomfort and facilitating tasks that would interrupt our routine. Hopefully Apple can announce more features like this at the next WWDC with the presentation of iOS 16 and other surprises awaiting us.
