Every now and then, old Apple devices go up for auction and sell for millions of dollars. An Apple-1 auctioned off on Ebay fetched $ 1.75 million a few years ago. Reading things like this may seem like a long way off, but the truth is that there is products that many of us may have stored in the attic which also have significant value.
Original and especially unopened editions
Some Apple devices, by their very nature, become collector’s items. When this happens, the price paid for one of these coins is much higher than the original sale price. It is true that the value of the coin fluctuates a lot depending on whether the device is in use or about to be opened, but in any case one might be surprised after having reviewed our mini collection of old Apple products.
This is the case of an original iPhone 4 GB which, new, in its original packaging, reached 26,990 dollars on Ebay. Others, also new, but with the box already open, sold for 2,990 dollars, a price well above the original 500 dollars. Looking back further in time, a Lisa 2 can fetch $ 5,700. Other products, such as the Macintosh 128K, can sell for $ 1,000 at auction, while seemingly simple accessories like the same range keyboard 400 dollars
While the seemingly worthless original iPod brochure comes in at $ 25, a First-gen Apple TV in its original packaging costs about the same price as the latest version 4K HDR of it: $ 145. Something similar is happening with the original iPad, which in its 64GB Wi-Fi + 3G variant fetched over $ 700 at auction.
A value that increases over time, as fewer units are available and, above all, when discovering its historical value.
It is clear that there are certain Apple products that have marked a before and after in the history of the company and of technology in general. These pieces well they can achieve a value similar to what they originally cost
Want to explore our store of Apple products? If we do, keep in mind that products that can be considered in common use today will at some point fall into the vintage category. Products like the first Apple Watch or the first AirPods can be sold for attractive amounts within a few years.
Obviously, it will be a long time before the new 16in MacBook Pro can sell for a million dollars, but there will certainly come a time when it almost certainly does. And if not, tell who sold an issue of the first edition of MacWorld magazine with the appearance of Steve Jobs for $ 400.
