WWDC is without a doubt one of my favorite events. Mainly because of the software that’s featured – although a little bit of hardware doesn’t hurt anyone either. What I like the most is that thanks to updated operating systems we can have, so to speak, a completely free “new” device.
Installing iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and others in September will allow our iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc. to operate not only better, but also differently. yes we know take full advantage of the new features who understand these operating systems, we will achieve a real change of terminal without paying a single euro. That’s the magic of WWDC.
New free iPhone. For everyone. For all time
I’ve been using the new iOS 17 beta on my iPhone 14 Pro for a week now, and while admittedly I don’t find as many visual changes as I have in other years, I did notice a few things which returned my enthusiasm for it. This year It looks like optimization is going to be on another level
Normally installing beta versions on our core devices is not recommended. Especially the first ones. They tend to be quite inefficient. The battery drains very quickly, many apps don’t work, and system bugs go from exception to norm. Apple can’t be blamed for anything either. They clarify that it is for developers, not for the common user, and the “right” version will be released in September with the new iPhones. If you install it, it is at your own risk.
I remember the first beta of iOS 16 was horrible. My iPhone 13 Pro was on fire most of the day, the battery was practically non-existent… not that the phone had any bugs, it was a bug in itself. The problem was such that I had to downgrade to iOS 15 because I couldn’t take it anymore. When installing the iOS 17 beta, I was afraid that the same thing would happen to me again, but the opposite happened.
I found an optimized system, the battery lasts a long time, it doesn’t get hot and it doesn’t have more bugs than you would expect from a beta version. Sometimes the widgets don’t work, but nothing else. I’m excited that if the first beta is already this stable, what will the final version look like? Moreover, if the next iPhones are equipped with a processor manufactured in a three-nanometer process, battery life can be abysmal
Concrete but necessary features
As I have already told you, this iOS is not the one that has received the most visual changes in recent years. However, there are a number of new features which make this a great update. Some of them may not be the most attractive or the ones that users will use frequently —fortunately—but they were necessary.
I’m talking about Check-In, for example. A feature that allows us to inform our trusted contacts that we have arrived safely wherever we are going. Record our location at all times and warns us if we deviate from our routeif we take longer than necessary or if we never directly reach our destination.
There are other novelties that will arrive later, such as Diary, which will allow us to keep a diary with up-to-date text, images, videos and others to be able to remember them later. It will use artificial intelligence to suggest changes and improvements, giving us a hint that Apple is indeed investigating this area. even if they are silent
Something that has gone unnoticed are interactive widgets. They’re a bit primitive, no doubt, but they’re exciting because it means Apple is working on them. Those of Cupertino are not the type to take several steps at a time, they prefer to take it little by little. Slowly but surely. They care less about being first and more about being the best and showing off the Apple Vision Pro. I’m convinced that will continue to work on these widgets and they’ll do something with them in iOS 18, although that’s still a year away.
As you can see, iOS 17 gave us reason to be excited, and not a few. Everything indicates that our iPhone will have an outrageous battery, a very complete and optimized operating system, and new features that others do not have but which are very necessary. Besides, gives us a glimpse of what the future holds, which looks very promising. Well done Apple.
