With WWDC behind us, summer turns to updated betas as we inch toward September, when we expect all the new operating systems to arrive, as well as, of course, the new iPhone and Apple Watch. And we will also be treated to an extension of the international release of Apple Vision Pro, which was launched in several Asian countries at the end of June and will arrive in Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom on the 12th. July.
Aside from Vision Pro’s availability in these new regions, all eyes are on iOS 18, macOS 15, and the other betas, which will begin public beta testing in July. With that in mind, here’s everything we’re expecting from Apple this month.
New Hardware Releases
July is traditionally a quiet month for Apple, although a handful of new products have launched, including the MagSafe battery case (2021) and updates to the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro in 2019. However, with no Apple events on the calendar Before September, we don’t expect much in terms of new material this month.
Application and software updates
The developer beta for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, iPadOS 18, and all other operating system upd ates this year launched on the first day of WWDC in June. At the time, Apple announced that a public beta would be available in July (we believe it should take place in the second week of July). Last year she arrived on Wednesday July 12, but she could arrive at any time.
It’s worth noting the absence of Apple Intelligence or any of the new Siri features in the current developer beta. These will launch this fall with a “beta” tag, but they are supposedly available for testing during the summer beta period. Will Apple Intelligence arrive with the public beta this month? Or in an update in a later beta? No one really knows, but we suspect Apple will need some significant testing time before rolling these features out to millions of iPhones, iPads, and Macs in September.
Otherwise, there are a handful of iOS 18 features that won’t be available when they release in September, so you shouldn’t expect to see them in public betas this month either.
