Apple’s iPhone is bolstered, largely by the latest generation introduced (13), in North America. Canalys points to a market share of 51%.
According to the Canalys firm, Apple’s iPhone recorded more than half of shipments across North America in the first quarter of this year 2022 alone. The current model, the iPhone 13, has been so attractive that it has achieved excellent performance.
iPhone 13 gives Apple good numbers, especially in the US
A growth that continues to consolidate from year to year is that of the iPhone in the United States. Brian Lynch, an analyst at Canalys, indicated that The smartphone market has seen a big boom and this is due to the growth of the Cupertino brand.
The total number of smartphones is 39 million units in the United States. Those in Cupertino were up 19% year-on-year with a market share of 51%. Its nearest competitor, Samsung, had a 27% share. Close behind Lenovo, TCL and Google with 10%, 4% and 3% respectively
It is surprising that Googlebeing the direct supplier of the Android operating system, stay well below of a brand like TCL that has little presence in the world. The number that maintains expectations for the future is its annual growth of 380%.
The American territory will be attractive for manufacturers
According to data from Apple, the iPhone shipped nearly 20 million units in the first installment of 2022. The report indicates that there is still a door for further growth
On the other hand, Canalys believes that North America will be a priority territory for manufacturers. They will exercise it through deep discounts and high trade-in values for customers who have contracts with telephone operators. Although supply is one of the biggest issues for almost all suppliers and brands in the next quarter, they believe they will not be affected by this issue or by the volatility issues in the economy.
