With the new Expert RAW, you can now take authentic long exposure night photos with the Galaxy S23 and, of course, the new Galaxy S24. NOW Samsung released a new version of the Camera Assistant app which includes, in addition to the reorganization of certain parameters with a new section, a new option to leave the original resolution if digital zoom had been applied to the photo.
This new Camera Assistant module update for Galaxy camera app included via Good Lock —this application which offers a high degree of customization at all levels for Samsung mobile phones– It is available on Galaxy S23, S22, S21, S20, Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, Z Fold 2 and Z Flip series
Of course, the An essential condition is to have One UI 5.1 which all mentioned cell phones should already have. The version of Camera Assistant is 2.0.00.0 and includes a total restructuring to stay that way with even a new section dedicated to high resolution settings:
- NOW New menu included for high resolution settings which includes a button to reduce noise in low-light photos by combining multiple lowest resolution images into a final high-quality image.
- Feature name changed known as “optical quality zoom” to “2x crop zoom shortcut”. This feature allows you to use photos with 2x zoom without losing quality when using the main camera on mobile phones with high-resolution sensors.
- “Camera Speed” option is no longer available in Camera Assistant when switching to regular camera settings in One UI 6. This option is now available from the camera settings and then in the advanced image options.
But the most interesting thing about this new Camera Assistant update in the Camera app is the appearance of “digital zoom”. What this does is if the resolution is decreased due to the applied zoom, the photo is enlarged to the previously selected resolution. That is, the quality of its resolution is maintained even if one of the most common actions was performed when taking a photo.
Samsung also added “Distortion Correction”, which is responsible for automatically correcting crooked or curved lines caused by lens and perspective distortion. This option appears as disabled in Camera Assistant settings, unlike the previous one, which is enabled by default after updating to the latest version.
Camera Assistant is available on the Galaxy Store as a Good Lock module so you can be included in the camera app settings; It can also be installed by having Good Lock on your mobile, also available on the Galaxy Store. A great arrival on all mobile phones prior to the new Galaxy S24.
