Will we see a 27-inch iMac with M2 chip? It seems to be further than you think.
The new Mac Studio and the Studio Display were the main novelties of the last Apple event. Following this announcement, fans began to notice that everyone’s favorite had disappeared from the Apple Store: the 27-inch iMac.
The 27-inch iMac was one of the few devices that still had an Intel processor within the Apple catalog, with the advantages and disadvantages that this entails. Many fans hoped that the 27-inch iMac Pro with M1 or M2 chip would be a reality, but unfortunately some reports say we won’t see an update to the device
27-inch iMac Pro may not launch
9to5Mac mentioned that there are no plans to release a new 27-inch iMac, at least in the near future. The bad news is that this may be final, since Apple has mentioned to the press and its fans that this device would be permanently licensed and they would focus on further development of Mac Studio
But the bad news doesn’t stop, since the range of Macs with the M2 chip that Apple would present in 2022 has been leaked, and the only iMac listed is the 24 inchwhich would receive a processor upgrade, a new design, and an improved panel similar to Apple’s Studio Display.
The 27-inch iMac Pro seemed like a good ideabut it’s a device that Apple didn’t plan to launch this year, leaving the aforementioned Mac Studio and the possible new version of the Mac Pro with the M2 chip as high-end computers.
Remember that these are leaks and Apple usually announces surprises at its launch events, so you might be able to see this 27-inch iMac with an M2 chip any day now. Hope is the last thing that dies, they say.
