With the first update of 2023 for its Android smartphones, Google releases a good bug fix, stability update, security patch update to January and adds enhancements to phones to make them even more attractive. This update covers Pixels from 2020.
The list of changes introduced by Google, besides the aforementioned generic bug fixes, are as follows:
- spatialized audio. The Google Pixel 6, Google Pixel 6 Pro, Google Pixel 7, and Google Pixel 7 Pro have immersive audio playback at your fingertips. Content must support spatial audio.
- Better fingerprint reading. The Google Pixel 6a and Google Pixel 7 optimize fingerprint reading with its optical sensor under the screen.
- Google fixes camera issues in magnified photos. This improvement avoids one of the most notorious problems with the cameras of the new Pixel 7.
- Solution to filter errors when the owner of a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro turned on the phone.
- Patch to fix the orientation of the screen in landscape when the mobile is in portrait.
The January Pixel update is now available to all owners of the aforementioned phones: from the 4th. The notice will appear as the new version develops. To check if the update is available, simply go to Android settings, scroll down to “System” and search for “System update”.
