It is clear that there are series and then there are series. We’ve all seen some of the ones we’ve forgotten over time by just not standing out, and then we’ve got series of the caliber of “ Breaking Bad ” or “ The West Wing ” (written by the great Aaron Sorkin) that leave a lasting impression on you that you will never forget.
“The Morning Show” is not a series of this caliber, I am already putting you in the background. But its ingredients and especially its cast of actors and actresses convinces, offers quality
A story made by the role of its protagonists
One could speak of the plot as one of the attractions of the series: a very famous presenter of a morning news program in New York is involved in accusations of sexual abuse of a colleague, which is an earthquake for all his colleagues and an opportunity for others. Jennifer Aniston plays this defendant’s co-host (Steve Carell), so the story will focus on her and a colleague played by Reese Witherspoon.
The great work these actors do is, as our Espinof colleagues said in their time, the best of “The Morning Show”. Carell proves he can play dramatic roles in addition to the comedies he’s used to, and Aniston delivers. I can’t write this without mentioning either Billy Crudup and his Big Deal play a top executive
In addition to the interpretations, we must also recognize the plot, which is less remarkable but which adequately addresses a current issue. You can see the aftermath of a bumpy ride and multiple shot changes on the fly, but still “ The Morning Show ” manages to be decent in this regard making you love the ten chapters of its first season.
Maybe that’s why Apple decided renew the series for a second season From the beginning. It deserves it, and more so if the rumors come true that in this second season, the pandemic will emerge in the same way that it interrupted our lives for over a year. There is no scheduled release date for the new episodes yet, but we should be able to see them before 2022.
‘The Morning Show’, in definitiva, deserves to be seen. Not if you want a sci-fi or fantasy series with great special effects, but if the thought of seeing how New York’s television high society trembles at a huge scandal shaking the city. Oddly enough, this is one of the series that caught my attention the least from the start, and in the end I ended up seeing it as one of the base series in the catalog.
