These Xiaomi and Redmi phones will never be officially updated again

Manufacturers launch mobiles knowing that they replace existing ones. These are generational changes and it is very difficult to keep them all up to date, especially in a catalog as large as Xiaomi’s. That’s why it’s time to retire the oldest and for this Xiaomi publishes regularly a list of phones that no longer have official support.

The list comes from the trust.mi.com website in which the models that lose support are indicated. That is, those that will no longer be updated by the company. This does not prevent the most popular from continuing to have external support through the ‘cooks’ and their ROMs, but at least the company tidies up their existence. They will stay as they are until they stop working.

If your mobile is in this list, it will no longer be updated

Xiaomi usually puts away its phones when three years have passed since its launch in the market. During this period, they must have received at least two major operating system updates and at least one additional year of security updates. On some newer models this is extended and four years of support have already been achieved: three for system, one for security patches.

The latest to join the list a few days ago are the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi GO. These are models with three years on the market and will no longer receive further updates. The mobiles already abandoned by Xiaomi and which will not receive updates are as follows. If your mobile is one of them, consider getting a new one.
