The recent sad accident involving the Titan submarine reminded us that water pressure is no joke. This one is capable of crushing everything, with which one can abandon almost everything that ends up at the bottom of the sea if it is at a certain depth. I repeat: almost.
A good example of this is in Orlando, Florida. There we have a company called 4ocean run by Alex Schulze, which is dedicated to cleaning up the sea floor in that area of the United States. Alex is used to finding cell phones in this context, but what was never found was the one that worked
“I can’t believe you found my son’s phone”
As Click Orlando explains, Schulze came across an iPhone lying on the bottom of the sea. It was housed in a resealable plastic bag with a clear waterproof case, so the combination of the strength of the phone and that case and of this bag allowed the iPhone to continue to function.
Schulze rescued the phone from the bottom of t he sea, brought it to his office and verified that it loaded correctly
One of those emergency contacts was the owner’s mother, who answered Schulze’s call and quickly said, “I can’t believe you found my son’s phone.” She was the one who approached 4ocean’s offices and retrieved her son’s iPhone, revealing that she had lost it days before.
This iPhone may have recovered in a few days, but we also saw examples of models that passed almost a year under water
