Just a few hours ago we learned that Google would roll out Android 15 in Europe today on its Pixel phones and tablets, just like the Removing Pixel Features corresponding to this month of October. The tech giant just announced all the news about Pixel devices that expand AI capabilities, photography, security features and many other new features for watches, tablets and your mobile phones.
First of all, Gemini Access is now available for Pixel Budsso that Google’s generative artificial intelligence capabilities can be accessed by voice. An important novelty to give more importance to voice, and even more so when Gemini Live should drop at some point in Europe to be able to generate natural conversations with AI.
The next novelty concerns its Pixel phones, while last August it presented the Pixel 9. In the Removing Pixel Features an improvement is received video quality by isolating sounds with the Magic Eraser for audio, an improvement in the quality of underwater photography and video recording, and the launch of the astrophotography function for Night Vision mode.
And there are other new features for Pixel phones beyond photography: Pixel 8 Pro Thermometer app can now be used with the camera to receive more precise temperature measurements and a new anti-theft tool to protect the cell phone (it was recently learned that they will be activated).
Another of his biggest releases is private space to protect applications with sensitive information and thus make it invisible to anyone who picks up the cell phone for a moment. In fact, it includes an additional access layer to ensure that only the user accesses this folder with the fingerprint sensor; similar in concept to Samsung Secure Folder.
Google Watches are also updated with important new features like pulse absence detection arriving in Europethe contacts tile for quicker access to favorites and a selection of emojis to respond to email notifications from the Gmail app.
The Pixel tablet also gets a twist or two with a seamless streaming between devicesthe ability to manage notifications on all devices and easy access to control home automation and images from cameras connected under the same WiFi connection.
And as I mentioned a while ago, the deployment of Android 15 started bringing some of these special features to the major update as they are all described by Google on its blog:
- Anti-theft detection: AI and machine learning to analyze different signals in order to detect possible theft attempts.
- Locking the device offline: If the thief tries to disconnect the mobile from the Internet to extract data or prevent remote wiping with the Find My Device function.
- Private space: Similar to a digital safe, sensitive applications (dating apps, social media applications, etc.) are located independently of others. They remain invisible to others and an extra layer of authentication is added for access using the fingerprint sensor.
- Ability to pin and unpin the taskbar on the screen for foldables and tablets: you have your favorite applications at your fingertips.
- App pairing: By opening Google Drive and Gmail, you can drag and drop files from one to the other. These application combinations can be saved.
- Night mode and camera controls provide better results in dimly lit environments.
- Third-party apps offer a greater degree of control over the mobile camera.
- Messaging apps can now use satellite connectivity to send and receive messages.
- Applications that use authentication with passwords or access keysyou can connect with just one touch.
