macOS Sequoia arrives with many new features and also hides some very interesting tricks for your Mac
The arrival of macOS Sequoia has brought us many new features on Mac and that also hides lots of interesting tips. Although some macOS Sequoia features are not available on Macs with Intel chips, they are all available on all Macs, just not in certain regions of the world.
Sort windows
In macOS Sequoia, Apple has redesigned the way we organize windows on the desktopwith interesting news. The objective is to facilitate the arrangement of windows when you have several open. Here are the options available:
- Drag windows: If you drag a window to one side of the screen, you can place it next to that side. You can do this with multiple windows until you create a mosaic.
- What’s new on the green button: The green button in the upper left corner of the windows includes new options when the mouse is left over.
- Move and resize: by entering Window > Move and Resize, we find many layouts for windows.

Adjust space between windows
If the space between windows remaining after this rearrangement seems excessive, you have a way to reduce it. enter System Settings > Desktop & Dockin the Windows section, Disable border display on wrapped windows. Windows will now fit without leaving any margin.
Change the background of video calls
And Cool macOS Sequoia trick lets you change the background of your video callswhatever app you use. This tip works particularly well with Continuity Camera. Here’s how to do it:
- Start a video calling app and use your iPhone as a camera.
- Tap the green camera icon in the menu bar.
- Tap the icon in front of the background to activate it.
- Click on the image to choose the background.
Color the notes
Notes app comes with many new features in iOS 18 and also in macOS Sequoia. One of these great new features allows us color the notes. A great tip that will allow you to create more visual, attractive and useful notes.
To use this trick, simply: select a word or phrase and click the Aa button to access color options. Five colors are available: orange, purple, pink, turquoise and blue.
Watch videos better in Safari
An interesting trick available in Safari allows you to watch videos from any website much more comfortably. This option makes the video expands inside the Safari window as if it were some sort of “theater mode”called Video Viewer, which centers the video and blurs anything behind it.
To activate this new mode, simply access a website and play a video. Then press the at the top left of Safari’s address bar and select Video Viewer. Classic macOS video controls will also appear.
Hide distractions
Another Safari tip also available on iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. This tip allows us hide windows that appear on a web page that can distract us from the content. These might be ads, embedded videos, or other types of content that we don’t like.
To use this trick in macOS Sequoia, navigate to a website from Safari, tap the left-click on the address bar and click Hide Distractions. Select the items you want to hide and tap OK.
Better manage passwords
Apple created a Application passwords which was almost essential under macOS. From this application we can consult all the passwords that we have saved in a much simpler way than before. In addition, the application will tell us if any of the saved passwords have been leaked or reused, advising us to change them. We can also see the passwords of known Wi-Fi networks.
Cool Messages Features
Messages is one of the macOS apps with the most new tipssomething you’ll love if you share iMessage with your contacts. These are the best:
- Format text– Write a message, select a phrase and right-click. At the top, you can choose between bold, italic, strikethrough, or underline.
- New text animations– Write a message, select a sentence, right-click and tap Text Effects. Select the one you want from Zoom, Zoom, Shake, Bounce, Explosion, Wave, Highlight and Shake.
- React with any emoji: by pressing with a secondary click, the reactions will appear. The usual six icons are now more colorful, but we can also select any emoji to react.
- Schedule a message– Write a message, tap the “+” icon and select Send later. Schedule the time and day you want to send this message.
Reacting to messages, in the same way as in iOS 18 or by choosing any emoji, is now much simpler since you just have to click with the secondary button pic.twitter.com/ICJEx7P6fM

Use iPhone from Mac
The new iPhone mirroring app Not only does it allow you to see the iPhone screen on your Mac, but it also allows you to use the iPhone itself from the computer, being able to move around the interface, open applications, send messages or receive notifications. Unfortunately, this app is not available in Europe at the moment.
Math Notes
One of the flagship functions of the Notes application. This feature is available in the Calculator app and allows you to perform operations, including writing equations directly in a note, with automatic resolution
New cool wallpapers
In macOS Sequoia we have new wallpapers that are worth installing on our Mac, including a dynamic wallpaper that will appeal to all Apple lovers. You can select these live wallpapers in System Settings > Wallpapers. Here are the options:
- Sequoia.
- Redwood at dawn.
- Redwood in the morning.
- Redwood at night.
- Macintosh.

Quick access to passwords
An interesting trick of macOS Sequoia allows us have direct access to our passwords in the menu barwithout having to open the new Passwords app. By simply clicking on the icon, a small box will appear in which we can search for passwords.
To enable this shortcut, open the Passwords app and click above Passwords > Settingsand now check the Show passwords option in the menu bar. An icon with a key will appear.
Record and transcribe voice memos
A great tip available in the Notes app. When writing a new note, above we have a voice memos icon so you can record with Mac microphones what happens. The transcript is not yet available in all regions, but it will arrive eventually.
Manage iPhone notifications
iPhone notifications can reach our Mac so we can see them faster thanks to iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. From System Settings > NotificationsYou can allow iPhone notifications to appear on your Mac and choose which apps you want to display. This is a function associated with iPhone Mirroring, so it is not yet available in Europe.
