Although there are alternatives as interesting as Amazon Photos or iCloud, Google Photos is a an image backup and organization service that’s pretty hard to beat. And it is even capable of organizing the people who appear in the photographs we have by their faces, which can be very useful for finding images.
As in other Google services like Gmail, the search box supports the ability to search images and videos more precisely and using various parameters. As a kind of options for doing an advanced search, only in this case they cannot be selected at a glance.
And we’re going to have to do this using search codes, much like what happens on platforms like Netflix. Below you will see what is the best way to search within the app.
How to search in Google Photos
Google Photos has a search section in its bottom menu bar through which it is possible to find a specific image more easily. It is possible to search for terms such as “beach”, “mountain”, “dog” and much more. Basically, if you are looking for the most representative object in the photo, the application will surely find it. However, you can go much further
And it is possible to use several codes which allow you to modify the search so that it is, For example, only display results that occurred on a specific date or which took place in a specific location. To do this, simply put “and” between the key terms you want to search for. For example, if you search for “video and Madrid”, all videos saved in that location will be listed.
On the other hand, changing this word to “not” will do the exact opposite, so all videos will be shown, but those that take place in this location will be excluded. If “or” is used in between, it will search for anything that matches one or both keywords.
If the word after or before is used followed by a date, results taken after or before that time can be delineated. Of course, you will have to set the date by first putting the year, then the month and finally the day. For example, it is possible to search for “madrid and after 07/28/2012”.
