Did you know you can send video messages on WhatsApp? Yes, like voice notes, but in video format of up to one minute. If you don’t use this feature, or maybe you didn’t even know it existed, WhatsApp seems to want you to know about and send more of these videos to your friends and loved ones.
The feature has been available for almost a year, but I can count on my hands the number of times I’ve sent video messages in that time, even though it’s something I do constantly on Telegram. Now the app will implement a new quick reply button that will allow send a video message quickly
Chat via videos one minute at a time
Video messages arrived on the messaging platform in July 2023, after a few weeks of their existence being leaked through the beta version of the app. Originally, the app allowed these videos to be sent from the same button with which you send voice messages, but it seems that this was very confusing for some users, so WhatsApp changed the way video messages are sent.
Now to send a video message we need to hold down the camera button
The latest WhatsApp for Android beta now also adds a quick reply button for video messages, according to the discovery of WaBetaInfo. In other words, WhatsApp wants if it sends you a video message, you can respond more quickly and comfortably with another video message.
By being able to respond quickly with a video message, users can view this shortcut as an incentive to use this format. Remember that video messages can be sent record with front camera for selfies and also switch to rear camera and above all, if we wish.
This new feature was discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android version 2.24.14.5, which is already starting to reach more users of the development version of the application. It’s unclear when the new quick reply button will reach all users of the stable version of the app.
