How to choose a Motorola mobile
Finding the most suitable mobile phone is a combination of design, performance, quality and price. Precisely, each of the slices must be balanced: the better it is independently, the higher the final average of the smartphone will be.
Below we leave you the key sections that we use to choose one or another phone; which are supplemented by one’s own experience in analyzing them.
- Screen. It is the spearhead of a smartphone and the most used element. The fact that it’s OLED adds points, and it also offers a minimum of FHD resolution. In addition, high refresh rates favor the experience: they are very important, especially in the cheapest Motorola.
- Processor. Mark the main features of the phone and the useful life of the device. The more modern and powerful it is, the better, it is a minimum guarantee. Still without obsession: it’s not because a Motorola has the most powerful that it’s the best phone, it’s the same thing, quite the contrary. What matters is balance.
- Storage and RAM. Our recommendation is to choose a minimum of 6/128 GB, thus guaranteeing you a good experience with Android. And if the mobile has space for an SD card, this increases by a minipoint.
- Battery and fast charging. The numbers have to be high, it’s not for nothing that autonomy is important. In addition, the speed with which the mobile charges will save you from having to anchor yourself to an outlet for hours. Our ideal is a minimum of 5,000 mAh for the battery and 33 W for fast charging.
- Cameras. Numbers matter, but more for the brand than the user: more cameras don’t mean better photographs. The Motorolas we recommend guarantee photos with a minimum of quality, offer decent results in all conditions and have a top-notch sensor. The rest is optional.
- Software. That it is as up to date as possible and that it offers at least two years of key Android updates.
- Design and materials. Yes, hardware is important, but ultimately a mobile phone gets attention. Even if you put an AliExpress case on it: the Motorola mobile must be attractive to the eye. And with the best possible use of materials, even if it is plastic.
Best Motorola Phones (2024)
For the selection we followed our evaluation criteria to find the best Motorola based on the most common ranges and types of searches. Here you have them.
If you don’t want to spend more than 200 dollars
The Motorola g54 is our favorite here, it’s very hard to find more features for less. It even looks nice and has a nice touch, which is unusual among cheap phones. Not only that.
A more than decent Dimensions 7020 as a processor, a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen, 8/128 GB of RAM and base storage, a main rear camera that goes up to 50 megapixels while maintaining fairly good capture quality and a battery of 5,000 mAh with 33 W fast charging speeds.

If you don’t want to spend more than 300 dollars
The Moto G range remains in great shape in this price segment, the mid-range continues to look great. And if you don’t want to spend more than 300 dollars, the Motorola g84 is at the center of your target: it even has an OLED screen.
The aforementioned 6.55-inch OLED panel, with a 120Hz refresh rate, raises the bar for an affordable phone that still has enough power for common tasks: it has a Snapdragon 695; accompanied by 12/256 GB, not bad. Elsewhere, the Motorola g84 stands out for its dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 5,000 mAh battery and 33W fast charging. It has 5G connectivity.

If you don’t want to spend more than 400 dollars
The Motorola Edge 50 came out very recently, they are still too expensive to be worth having last year’s models as good as the Motorola Edge 40: it costs less than 400 dollars and you get a mid-range with great aspirations. It’s a phone call.
Its 55-inch pOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz and FHD+ resolution already suggests the mobile category. MediaTek Dimensity 8020 as processor8/256 GB, dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a secondary with a 13-megapixel lens that performs acceptably, its battery is 4,400 mAh, charges at 68 W and even has a wireless charging.

If you are looking for the best Motorola in terms of quality/price
At this point we could repeat ourselves by choosing the Motorola g84 again, this smartphone gives a lot for what it is worth. To make the selection of phones more varied, we will opt for the Motorola Edge 30 Pro: a top of the range which, almost a few years old, has fallen to the mid-range price. You should evaluate this in terms of updates, since there will soon be no more. Otherwise, it has even better hardware than this year’s Edge 50.
In terms of processor, Motorola chose a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (manufactured by Samsung), a little less efficient than the 8+ Gen 1 (manufactured by TSMC). 6.7-inch pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, up to 12/512GB, 4800mAh battery with 68W fast charging, triple rear camera with 50-megapixel main and wide-angle camera

If what you are looking for is the best camera
In this section, we opt for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, the brand’s latest high-end which is however not excessively expensive either. However, he has excellent photographic abilities: we have seen this first hand.
The combination of triple rear cameras gives a lot of play, allowing you to tackle all types of scenes knowing that there will be a suitable lens. It even has a more than adequate telephoto lens for the phone category. The main sensor is 50 megapixels with a large size for a smartphone: 1/1.3 inch; which is complemented by a 13-megapixel wide-angle and the aforementioned 10-megapixel phone. Additionally, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, up to 12/512 GB, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 125W super-fast charging.

If you don’t care about price and want the best Motorola
In the absence of the 2024 generation, which is surely coming, the best Motorola you can rely on right now is the Razr 40 Ultra. It has a foldable screen, so you will also have a mobile phone that is different from the others. Nevertheless, our recommendation is to wait until Motorola presents the new Razr 50 Ultra.
If you opt for the 2023 model, you’ll get an impressive 6.9-inch extended pOLED interior screen with another exterior that covers almost the entire facade: 3.6 inch poled. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 as processor, up to 12/512 GB, dual rear camera with 12 megapixels as main and a 3,800 mAh battery. The autonomy is not too loose, which must be taken into account.
