Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

Drive away dolls
We know the Cohen brothers as one of the most talented directing duos in history, but Drive-Away Dolls is entirely thanks to Ethan Cohen, who left his brother to create this unique film with a particularly enticing atmosphere. When two young women decide to leave everything behind and go into exile in the far corners of the United States, they borrow a car that unfortunately contains a mysterious briefcase coveted by disreputable gangsters… but also some real broken arms . So we’re a more feel-good action comedy with a sharp cinematic style (Cohen also directs) and an accomplished cast: Margaret Qualley, Pedro Pascal, Matt Damon, even Miley Cyrus, you name it. For our part, we can’t wait to take a look at the film.
- Cinema release: April 3, 2023
- director : Ethan Coen
- With : Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, Joey Slotnick
Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace
Ghostbusters, a cultural saga from the ’80s, attempted a (failed) comeback with a reboot in 2016 before expanding the original universe again with a new film three years ago. And it’s been pretty cool so far! “The Ice Menace” is its sequel and we will find some familiar faces there: Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), but also Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson who come to put on their ghost hunter costume! A mixture of young talent and fan service for an audience cocktail that simply promises to be quite nice. As for the pitch, it formalizes New York’s comeback while the Big Apple is covered in a looming ghostly layer of ice. It was directed by Gil Kenan, the man behind 2015’s Poltergeist.

Mystery of fire
“Riddle of Fire” promises to be a true ode to childhood that will warm every heart: this arthouse film tells the story the eccentric phases of the lives of three children with multiple goals: to crack their new games console, find the perfect recipe for a cake for their sick mother, confront a cult of poachers and much more unusual news. “As if Tom Sawyer, the Club of Five and the Goonies had met in an enchanted forest in Wyoming to play a board game around the campfire,” even tells us the synopsis of this enchanting feature film that Weston Razooli put together for him – it is also his first film. Which has also been selected at several film festivals, including the one in Toronto. A guarantee of quality, certainly!
- Cinema release: April 10, 2023
- director : Weston Razooli

Civil War
The Civil War had already taken its toll in the 19th century: now imagine it in a modern era with modern equipment. Well, it doesn’t necessarily make you want to live – especially given the current news – but on the other hand it can lead to a very good feature film like Civil War, a tough war film directed by Alex Garland (the director of Civil War “) Film Men, the creator of the series Devs and the screenwriter of Annihilation or Ex Machina) where the USA tore itself apart in a conflict armed to the teeth. What is striking is the ultra-realism of the scenes and effects used, as well as the ruthless treatment of a broken society, which then leads to the end of a superpower.

- director :Alex Garland
- With : Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny
Back to black
Biopics have always been popular and after Bob Marley’s not too long ago It is Amy Winehouse who is therefore entitled to a posthumous film entitled “Back to Black”: the legendary soul singer may have had an innate talent for the stage, but also a turbulent life, the one here under the direction of Sam Taylor-Johnson is told (Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s wife, yes), who has produced… Fifty Shades of Gray in the past. Well, it’s not the best example, but above all she proposed Nowhere Boy, which for once was really successful: to promote the talent of Amy Winehouse we can therefore rely on Marisa Abela, ultimately still little known in the cinematic landscape is . We’ll see what happens, what do you want…
