One of Crunchyroll’s popular series confirms its return for a highly anticipated fourth and final season. An announcement that was not without reaction.
Competition from more traditional SVOD platforms is fierce. Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV and even Max are all trying to attract millions of subscribers. Crunchyroll doesn’t have this problem and has established itself as THE reference site for anime fans. Only the small French company ADN still manages to keep up, but its competitor is almost constantly bringing out the biggest exclusives. One of their flagship series is coming to an end soon and we now know more about its conclusion.
Soon the end of a popular series on Crunchyroll
The platform will continue to be there for one of Japanimation’s hits. The adventure for the anime Dr. Stone began in 2019 and was celebrated with great fanfare in 2025. On the occasion of the Stone Festival 2024 dedicated to the license, the official reports announced that the fourth and final season that will air on the non-Attack on Titan and others will be divided into three parts, without giving further details. We imagine that there will be a waiting period between each of them. More information will be revealed as production progresses. Crunchyroll will again be in control of the broadcast rights. The French branch has yet to confirm if it will be broadcast at the same time as us.
Shuhei Matsushita, director of the third season, and the animation studio TMS Entertainment will return to action for the anime’s grand finale. The rest of the creative team has not yet been confirmed. In parallel with this announcement, a first promotional poster for the fourth season of Dr. Stone was released. In it, a more experienced Senku Ishigami can be seen alongside his younger version, observing both the moon and the starry sky. However, the Crunchyroll community and subscribers seem to be divided by this split. Otakus say they are tired of seeing the final seasons of their favorite anime split into so many parts that it becomes almost incomprehensible. In any case, we’ll see you on Crunchyroll in 2025 to discover the end of the series.
