Paramount and Avatar Studios announce a new free-to-play game, Avatar The Last Airbender, coming early this year.
Avatar The Last Airbender was a real phenomenon in the United States. If the cartoon didn’t have the same success with us, the tide could turn during Netflix’s scheduled airing of the live-action series later this year. Paramount and Avatar Studios intend to surf the Atlantic with several video game adaptations on this future resurgence in popularity. The first is signed by Square Enix and that’s exactly what it shows again with an official trailer and release window.
Avatar Generations, a mobile role-playing game
Avatar Generations is already available in a handful of privileged countries and is officially announced to all. First time fans can relive the adventures of Aang and his gang in a brand new RPG with a tactical base. Through multiple chapters punctuated by turn-based combat, players will rediscover highlights of the first animated series as well as original stories from the four nations. The avatar can be supported by many iconic characters including Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko and more.
Free-to-play mobile requires not all to be unlocked instantly and it will be necessary to recruit them, each with different models and variations. Square Enix promises regular new content for Avatar Generations, including chapters dedicated to the story of The Legend of Korra. This next free game will be available worldwide for iOS and Android in early 2023. Interested parties can already pre-register to be notified when it launches. Rewards are also planned according to the number of people interested in free-to-play.
For fans who have been hoping for an Avatar game on PC and consoles, one is planned. The title, announced in advance in 2022, would be called Avatar Quest For Balance. It would also be an RPG that would visually resemble Zelda Breath of the Wilds. Planned across all platforms, the game would take place after the events of the series and would take the form of a “What If of Avatar.”
