Sega decided to please Sonic fans and releases an all new game, 100% free and totally WTF.
While Rose, the friend of the famous blue hedgehog, is celebrating her birthday with all the other iconic characters in the franchise, Sonic is brutally murdered.

Developed and published by Sega, this prank game is currently available on PC (via steam) and (fortunately) free. Also, the game seems to be more appreciated overall.

As for serious business, Sonic is currently booming after the success of Sonic Frontiers, which, by the way, continues to be updated. Recently a patch has been deployed and free content has been added including new challenges finally making it Sonic Frontiers a game that must be played at full speed. With around 2.5 million units sold, the game will continue to receive free content, and two updates are already planned for the coming months. In addition, the hedgehog also shines on the small screen with its Netflix series Sonic Prime
So the Sega mascot has a busy schedule and should be making more appearances throughout the year too, not to mention this April Fool’s joke. The current franchise boss had assured that 2023 would be (again) a very important year for Sonic and Sega. We only ask that you believe it.
