Christopher Judge and Al Pacino are on set
With the Game Awards ceremony just beginning, Geoff Keighley got off to a strong start when he invited cinema legend Al Pacino onto the stage. A choice that is ultimately not so unlikely given that the great actor, producer and screenwriter was chosen at the age of 82 to announce the winner of the Best Performance category, recognizing the best actors and actresses in the video game.
Al Pacino then took the opportunity to offer his opinion on video games, despite not being a great gamer himself, in his own words. In front of the audience and all viewers live on Twitch and YouTube, he was “impressed by the unique way in which the games tell their stories” and in particular by the performance of the actors. Al Pacino even stressed that he believes “actors take video games to new heights” before announcing the winner: Christopher Judge for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok.
The latter then took to the stage and began delivering a speech that, to say the least, marked the canvas. We have to believe that Christopher Judge had a lot to say to celebrate his victory, as he finished speaking almost 8 minutes later, a real record in this category, and not just for video game-related awards ceremonies.
Kratos breaks the record for best stunner
If it’s obvious that this speech (which you can watch in full in the video above) got local audiences laughing as much as those online, it also broke a particularly impressive record. In fact, the official Game Awards Twitter account said so this morning Christopher Judge’s speech is now officially the longest of any speech given at an awards ceremony:
Leave it to Kratos to set a world record.
The longest awards speech in history WAS actress Greer Garson at the 1942 Oscars.
She spoke for 5 minutes 30 seconds.
Speech by Christopher Judge #thegameawards was 7 minutes 59 seconds.

Kratos laissez-faire to set a world record.
The longest acceptance speech in history at an awards ceremony WAS given by actress Greer Garson at the 1942 Oscars.
She had spoken for 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
Christopher Judge’s speech at The Game Awards 2022 lasted 7 minutes and 59 seconds.
It’s time to contact the Guinness of World Records.
If Kratos got us used to turning off in a split second anything that had the misfortune to cross his path, we have to believe that the actor who lends his voice is also capable of it. Too bad the War God isn’t really known for being the most talkative of all God of War: Ragnarok characters… Absolutely, There is no doubt that this record should be set in the famous Guinness of Records if the Game Awards contact them as announced in their tweet.
