Want to play FF7 Rebirth but don’t have a PS5? Don’t panic, we may have a hint about the date the exclusivity ends. And it could be soon.
Come on, are you taking some of FF7 Rebirth again? Yes, what do you want? Communication around the game is accelerating as we get closer to release. Many of us want to discover the sequel to the 2020 remake. However, not all of us will enjoy it. In fact, those who don’t own a PS5 won’t be able to join Cloud and his gang on new adventures. If you are affected, do not panic. The PlayStation exclusivity won’t last forever and we even have a date for when it might arrive on PC.
FF7 Rebirth, a PS5 exclusive game that won’t last
Well, are we really surprised per se? FF7 Remake itself ended up on the PC in an edition with DLC. So we could obviously guess that Rebirth would follow suit. However, we wonder whether he won’t make it faster than his elder. But first: Where does this information come from? You may have missed it, but at the State of Play dedicated to the game we were treated to more than just the announcement of the demo and a gorgeous new trailer. We were also able to learn more about the expiration date of the exclusivity.
Sure enough, a screen appeared shortly after the event. Above we could see the following mention : “Not available on other media until at least May 29, 2024.” “. So don’t jump to the ceiling just yet. Read carefully, this does not mean that you will find FF7 Rebirth on PC on May 29th. However, we can expect its availability on another platform from that date. Patience is key asked and without precision it can take a long time. Put that way it is less encouraging, but we have to look at things positively.
Keep in mind that it took a long time for FF7 Remake to escape its PlayStation exclusivity. The complete overhaul took place in 2020 and only appeared on PC at the end of 2021. At the moment, it’s difficult to say whether Rebirth will suffer the same fate. Once again we have a simple clue to put in our mouths, but it doesn’t tell us much. We remain confident and expect it to come into force in 2024. However, for now we invite you to use the available demo.
