Advance Wars 1+2 Retraining Camp A remake of two of Nintendo’s most original games ever, it’s a highly anticipated game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
Advance Wars games were all released 20 years ago, the first in 2001 and the sequel in 2003, both for the Game Boy Advance. They’re turn-based strategy games, unusual not only for the Game Boy Advance, but also for a Nintendo-published game. Their phenomenal success in Western markets prompted Nintendo to release the games in Japan, and they’ve been some of the most popular games in the world ever since.
This remake is being done by established developer WayForward, but everything we’ve seen suggests the game will remain in the style of the original GBA duo.
Nintendo is again taking on publishing duties, as it’s part of their Wars series and will be releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Release Date
As far as we know, the Advance Wars remake has been ready for some time now, and since the company’s release date is April 8, it’s very much expected to continue on Nintendo Switch consoles worldwide.
However, with the outbreak of the Ukrainian-Russian War, Nintendo’s decision (understandably) to release a war-based game now seems out of place. So while the game has returned to TBA status, it’s definitely done and the company is waiting for a more opportune time to release this remaster.
Where to Book the Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp
While there’s no new release date or approximate range, many retailers are offering the chance to pre-order Advance Wars 1+2. You’ll almost certainly get it this way on launch day, no matter when. Base is currently offering a sizable pre-order discount for Advance Wars 1+2 for just £41.85, saving you over £8.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Game Trailer
We got a detailed look at the game, as well as its actual announcement, during last year’s Nintendo Direct at E3.
The game looks like a wonderful, vibrant reimagining of the Advance Wars game. All commander characters have their own personalities, each one comes to life, and toy-like tanks battle it out on the battlefield. What made the original game so good was its ease of play and broad appeal, and it looks like Nintendo is aiming for similar success with this remake.
