SubwaySim Hamburg: With Unreal Engine 5, the elevated train simulation wants to impress visually
NextSim 22 begins with the announcement of SubwaySim Hamburg, which is being developed in cooperation with Hamburger Hochbahn AG. In it you can experience the U3 line of the elevated railway and take a tour of the DT5 railcar. The developers promise an authentic replica of the 20.7-kilometer line, on which you will also pass some of Hamburg’s sights.
New technic: SubwaySim Hamburg is created with the Unreal Engine 5 and should therefore be particularly detailed. You can get a first glimpse in the teaser trailer attached above. It will take a while before the release, because SubwaySim Hamburg is not scheduled to appear until the first half of 2023.
City Bus Manager

City Bus Manager: New economic simulation lets you become the largest bus company
Do you have to take the bus regularly and have you already been disappointed by the timetable several times? Then you can soon do better in the City Bus Manager. In the economic simulation from the developer PeDeBe, who previously produced DLCs for OMSI 2, you set up your own bus company – in a famous city of your choice.
You take care of hiring new employees, create comprehensible timetables, maintain your buses and, above all, are punctual. After all, at the end of the day you want to get good ratings from your passengers so that you can gradually make your company bigger and more successful.
Real data: The City Bus Manager uses OpenStreetMap data and even adopts real driving routes including real bus travel times. You can of course also adjust them optionally and do not necessarily have to follow them.
Meanwhile, the release says that the City Bus Manager should appear later this year. However, there is no exact date yet.
CityDriver

City Driver: In this driving simulation you should be able to drive properly in Munich
The third new announcement from Aerosoft is the CityDriver, which is about authentic driving in a big city. To be more precise, this is Munich, which you can drive freely with different cars.
In addition to pure driving, you can take care of completing missions and challenges. Before that, however, you should take appropriate training in the driving school so that you don’t constantly step out of line in Munich’s traffic.
CityDriver is set to launch in Early Access on Steam in the near future. When exactly, that is currently still open.
More Announcements
In addition to the three major new announcements, Aerosoft, together with the respective developer studios, also delivered a few updates on the current lineup. We summarize this for you briefly and concisely:
- The Bus: For the bus simulation, which takes place entirely in Berlin, there is a new line that passes the Mercedes-Benz Arena, among other things, and four new buses.
- Winter Resort Simulator 2: Just in time for the start of the winter season, Riedstein, a new DLC, is to be released, which includes a new game world, three new cable cars and a 3rd person skier mode for single player and multiplayer.
- Heavy Cargo: Unfortunately, the heavy-duty transport simulation shifts a bit. Instead of the end of 2022, the game should now appear in early 2023 – there is no exact date yet.
- Heavy Duty Challenge: HDC also suffers a similar fate, because the off-road game with heavy trucks will also only be released in 2023 and not this year.
- Emergency 112 – Assault Squad: A spin-off for consoles where, as the title suggests, you start directly with the Assault Squad. However, it is currently still in a prototype phase.
