After the surprisingly great success of “Arcane”, Netflix has now released the first trailer for the second season of the League of Legends series, but unfortunately also has bad news.
The good news first: Netflix has released the first trailer for the second season of “Arcane”, the surprisingly successful animated series based on the MOBA League of Legends. It took a while to arrive, but is now finally set to make a splash again this November.
The bad news is that “Arcane” will end after season 2 and there will not be a third season. This is also clear from the trailer mentioned, which speaks of the “final chapter” of the series without much room for interpretation.
Before “Arcane” is finished, however, we can expect an action-packed second season in which Zaun and Piltover apparently enter into an active war.

At the end of the first season of “Arcane,” Jinx fired the ultimate missile at the council chamber of Piltover. At that point, it was unclear what that meant for the council. The trailer now suggests that the missile seems to have successfully taken out the council members. Mel’s mother, Ambessa Medarda – who is also set to join the roster in League of Legends in the future – is seeking revenge.
The video features several characters from League of Legends and the first season of “Arcane”, including Caitlyn and Vi, but also Ekko, Heimerdinger and others. The trailer ends with a (final?) fight between the sisters Jinx and Vi.
And even if “Arcane” ends, League of Legends will probably continue on TV screens. Co-creator Christian Linke said: “Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio Fortiche. From the very beginning when we started working on this project, we had a specific ending in mind, and that means that the story of Arcane will come to an end with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we still want to tell in Runeterra.”
