if you missed the original Assassin’s Creed With a hazy blue look, you’ll probably be happy to hear Assassin’s Creed Mirage There will be a filter to catch this.
While this doesn’t apply to all PS3/Xbox 360 games, it’s safe to say that, in retrospect, a lot of them look a little… off. Colors just seem to just disappear, and many games seem to turn down the saturation and put a muddy filter on top (it’s a lot more complicated than that, but you get the idea). Assassin’s Creed is no exception, as many of you may remember it as a rather gray-looking game. You might even miss that image now, and if you do, good news: Assassin’s Creed Phantasm will have a filter that takes you back in time to 2007.
Regarding the existential crisis of how long 2007 has actually passed, the filter really takes you back to the original game, and it really sucks the life out of Mirage. However, that didn’t stop the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account from expressing excitement, writing: “We’re happy to announce that Assassin’s Creed Phantasm will include a nostalgic visual filter option inspired by the first desaturated blue Color/gray palette. AC game.”
As a nod to the first game, the inclusion of filters isn’t too surprising, as Mirage has been described as a back-to-basics game since its initial release. This person will focus more on being a true assassin, accomplishing parkour and stealth. We also have a release date now – October of this year – and it looks like a remake of the game at its best.
When Assassin’s Creed Phantasm does release, you’ll be able to grab it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
