In the last few hours, new unfortunate developments surrounding the cult survival horror license Dead Space have become known. These vital functions appear to be impaired…
After the release of the excellent Dead Space remake last year, fans expected the iconic license introduced by Visceral Games in 2008 to finally come back to the fore. Unfortunately, current reports seem to indicate that these hopes are, for now, reserved for the vacuum of space. We dismantle all of this with the plasma cutter.
The Dead Space license lives up to its name more than ever?
The bad news started with an announcement from the indescribable Jeff Grubb. At the end of the day yesterday, he brought up the rumor that EA Motive was working on a remake of Dead Space 2. As a reminder, we owe this studio the first one. However, sales of this copy would not have met Electronic Arts’ expectations. For this reason, Grubb argued that work on the remake of the second work has now been canceled. Since EA Motive recently joined the war effort for the Battlefield license, such a statement is not without merit.
However, an Electronic Arts representative responded publicly and half-heartedly denied this rumor. “ This story has no validity

Unfortunately, we have to face the facts, said the very well-informed journalist. Fans don’t expect Dead Space to return any time soon. In any case, the license is on hold for the time being. However, it’s not EA Motive’s fault for looking for ways to get the company back in the saddle. According to Jason Schreier, the studio was even working on a brand new game. The idea of a remake of the second work was also not ruled out.
However, all of these plans appear to have been evacuated through the decompression lock for now. Since Dead Space Remake “only” sold 1 million copies, Electronic Arts seems to have other, more important concerns. Starting with his favorite Battlefield FPS license. For the time being, EA Motive will therefore be working on this franchise as well as the upcoming Iron Man game. For Isaac Clarke fans, all that remains for now is the vacuum of space. But can Electronic Arts hear them screaming in this immensity?
