Patch 16 for Baldur’s Gate 3 has arrived, and as usual it brings with it a pretty robust set of tweaks and revisions, including one for those of you who are stuck with the silliest final hurdles in Honor Mode It will be wonderful music.
For those of you who haven’t yet had the super-hard difficulty setting added to Larian’s RPG and Epilogue in the fifth patch, or who’ve read about other people’s efforts on Reddit, some players have managed to soft-lock themselves At the climax of the game. How do you ask? Well, by accidentally leaving behind the hammer they need to carry so as not to be trapped in the astral plane of the camp.

Thanks to those forgetful BG3 masters, their prayers have been answered by one of the title changes in the latest patch. “You can now access certain quest-related items on the spot,” reads a bullet point in the update’s patch notes, “even if they are currently in camp chests or in the inventories of companions waiting in camp.”
So, there you go, never give Shadowheart the Hammer of Orphek again as a romantic gift that she will absolutely appreciate, and then give her a week off, which is counterproductive for you.
In terms of key tweaks to the patch, though, that’s still far away. Many of the fixes it released related to the game’s ending, with one fix saying: “Karak will now get her scenes in Avernus, whether she’s an avatar or a companion,” while another ensured Will will (haha) If that’s how his story goes, try to follow her there.
The weirder news is that once you reach the end of the game, having a brief chat with Scratch and Owlbear Cub becomes a lot easier thanks to the addition of some extra animal language potions if you start pestering him kiss you.

Meanwhile, battle-hardened Baldur’s Gate players will be delighted to learn that a new challenge awaits them in their next Tactical Difficulty match, with Khazado now able to transform into “a unique mist shape, threatening his enemies with a necrotic aura,” while the setting is engaged. On the other hand, Gortash’s battles should now be free of bugged grenade launchers that rain hellfire on people in real time.
Those are the big headlines, but be sure to check out the full description of the patch via the link above.
In other Baldur’s Gate 3-related news, Xbox has released some guidelines to help people avoid being banned for recording obscene footage from the game, while director Swen Vincke has been busy with the first release of his next project curtain, but sadly he won’t let us ignore what it is.
