Baldur’s Gate III is winning hugely at the current award ceremonies and there is no end in sight. The role-playing game is also at the top of the shortlist for the BAFTA nominations.
Would Larian Studios have dreamed of this? Baldur’s Gate III is currently bagging awards like a conveyor belt, and rightly so. Things are also looking good for the role-playing game at the upcoming BAFTA Games Awards 2024.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has – somewhat surprisingly – the Shortlist for the nominations with a total of 60 titles published. The final nominations will be voted on starting in January and the final nominations are scheduled to be published on March 7th.
Things are looking extremely good for Baldur’s Gate III, the role-playing game from Larian Studios is included in the shortlist for 15 categories. As expected, the closest pursuer is Alan Wake 2, which is intended for 14 categories.
Behind them are Spider-Man 2 (10 categories), Hogwarts Legacy (9), Final Fantasy 16 (8) and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (8). This is particularly good news for Hogwarts Legacy, as the game was left empty-handed at other awards ceremonies, much to the annoyance of many fans.
BAFTA has also announced the top 10 shortlists for Best Feature, British Feature, Actor in a Leading Role and Actress in a Supporting Role, and Baldur’s Gate III also features heavily in some of them:
