Even if Battlefield 2042 is considered a flop by and large, DICE doesn’t stop reworking the game to maybe experience a second spring after all.
Battlefield 2042 has had many problems since its launch in November 2021, which has driven DICE and EA to extensive revisions and they are apparently far from over. As Electronic Arts has now confirmed, the eagerly awaited update 3.2 should finally be imported in the coming week.
The tension is great because Battlefield 2042 will again receive a class system with the update that was no longer in the game at the time and caused many protests from the players, who simply missed the differences between the playable characters.
With the update, the four classes Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon are returning, the existing characters are classified accordingly. So Mackay, Dozer, Sundance and Zain migrate to the Assault class. Engineer is filled with Boris, Crawford and Lis, Falck Angel and Irish join the supports. Paik, Casper and Rao make up the Recon class. With the classes, special gadgets come back into play, such as the defibrillator for the supporters.
A limitation of certain types of weapons to individual classes is still not planned. Instead, classes receive bonuses when using certain weapons. Assaults get additional magazines for assault rifles, Recons get an improved scope. There are also revisions to the loadouts.
